Hi, I'm here again to tell you about another journey.
On Valentine's Day 2011, the feast of love, we decided to go to Florence.
We left in the morning , very early ( sigh :( ), and returned in the evening, very tired.
As usual we got lucky and we found parking in the white stripes ( Florence has almost not free parking,)
The city isn't very big and one day is enough for a superficial and general look.
I was in another region, far from home at least 3 hours, for this reason the tourist desease infected my finger and I did a lot of photos ( especially in Basilica of Santa Croce) so I divide the journey in various posts.

Santa Maria del Fiore, known as "The Dome", located in Piazza del Duomo in the historical center of Florence, is one of the most beautiful and largest cathedrals in Europe, after St. Peter in Rome and St. Paul in London.
Begun in 1296 by Arnolfo di Cambio, after it was under the direction of Giotto, Talenti and finally Brunelleschi in 1418.
March of 1436 was consecrated by Pope Eugene IV.
The bell tower of Giotto was designed by him but it was completed by Andrea Pisano and Francesco Talenti. It's 84 mt high and its peculiarities are the white, pink and green marble, which adorn the structure

Brunelleschi's dome, which covers the cruise of the Cathedral, is the largest ever built in masonry.
Brunelleschi did not find any inspiration in another project, so he designed it himself.
Even now it's unclear how it can stand up but the genius of Brunelleschi was able to do this for centuries.

Silent Listener

Have you ever stopped to observe the wait?
Two guys on their first date will always get ahead of time. He will sit pretending nonchalance and kill the nerves playing with the phone. She is already watching him with a beating heart and an incomprehensible smile.
A week later He won't sit to be ready to meet her while She will come just in time, only to be desired.
The seasons pass and the bench has not heard of them: sometimes it see them coming in perfect synchrony, they embrace in front of its eyes and greet it with a kiss on their lips... so little by little it hardly saw them.
It feels like a post-it left on the showcase, under the eyes of all and view by anyone; as a stupid gossip magazine which sneaks without discretion in the lives of strangers.
Its job is to keep company with the wait, it's aware, however there are stories which leave signs, visible signs on it.
The bench sees some of them after some times.
Some got a few puonds and wore gray hairs, but haven't abandoned their young smile and their fingers twisted with each other.
Other go back alone, they sit where they used to do and take care to leave the place near them free, hoping that the long hair deals with that place.
They wait for hours, days, years without her trace. Obviously they get up and  run through their regular life but they always come back there to wait.
In reality the bench cross the long hair in that park. It always see her from a distance. She's close to the swing playing with her children.
She's happy and often smile, but never wants to go in front of the bench.
( Pleeease sorry for my bad english! :) )

The wheel turns for everyone

The wheel turns for everyone, young and old.
The children want to be very high, to see others ad small ants without destination, to look at thing which they think endless; like when they stop by the sea searching the horizon, imagining that beyond the Sun a new world rises: a big waterfall which takes you in a pool of colored balls, or the headlights are report landing for alien spacecraft.
Adults follow them to get lost or to wipe from memory some childhood fantasy.
Guys hide the desire to go up into the excuse to do something "stupid and crazy". They greeting, insult who waits below, who haven't had courage to look at the teenagers they are.
The couple want to imagine that everything beneath them is their property; nothing else at that moment will be so important as to reach the peak, so they can give a foundation to their imagination.
The elderly don't want to get closer to the ticket office if they don't have to accompany their nephew. They believe it's inappropriate for them. They no longer have smooth skin.
Instead, the wheel is there, and just waiting to be filled, because she always runs for everyone.

I apologize for my bad english but this post has had many visits from people who don't speak italian, so I give a little more understandable what I wrote. :) Thanks!
