Paris - Louvre, Jardin du Carrousel, Jardin des Tuileries, Place de la Concorde

Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois

Dalla fermata della metro "Louvre-Rivoli" si sbuca davanti la facciata est del famoso museo, dove sorge la chiesa di Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois.

Da quando la casata dei Valois si trasferì al Louvre, essa divenne la parrocchia della famiglia reale, infatti al suo interno sono costudite le salme di molti artisti di corte. 

Figlia della corrente gotica, la sua costruzione si sviluppò per quattro secoli, contaminandosi con le innovazioni del gotico "fiammeggiante", ramo del Tardo Gotico ( un esempio molto italiano nel Duomo di Milano).  

From metro station "Louvre-Rivoli" you will be in front of the east facade of the famous museum, where stands the church of Saint-Germain l'Auxerrois.

Since the family of the Valois moved to the Louvre, it became the parish of the royal family, in fact inside there are the remains of many artists of the court.

Daughter of the Gothic current, its construction was developed for four centuries, becoming contaminated with the innovations of the Gothic "flaming",  branch of the Late Gothic ( an italian example : Duomo di Milano. )

Sarebbe inutile darvi due o tre notizie su uno dei musei più famosi del mondo. Posso solo dirvi che purtroppo non ho potuto visitarlo per mancanza di tempo: se avessimo visto questo potevamo scordarci tutto il resto!
Però, pur di dire "Sono stata al Louvre" non mi sono risparmiata di andare al suo esterno! :D
Oltretutto, siccome sapevano che io e il mio ragazzo stavamo per andare a visitarlo, lo abbiamo trovato in fase di pulizia!


It would be useless to give you two or three news about one of the greatest museum in the world. I can only tell you that unfortunately we couldn't visit it due to lack of time: if we had seen it , we could forget about everything else!
But, just to say "I was at the Louvre", I've not spared to go on the outside! :D
Moreover, since they knew that me and my boyfriend were there, we found it while it was cleaned!

Jardin du Carrousel et Jardin des Tuileries

I Giardini di Carrousel, introdotti dall'arco di Trionfo di Carrousel, non sono altro che l'anticamera ai ben più estesi Giardini des Tuileries. 
L'arc de Triomphe du Carrousel fu voluta da Napoleone nel 1807-1809 come porta principale alla sua residenza imperiale, le chateau de Tuileries.


The Gardens of the Carrousel, introduced by the Arc of Triumph of Carrousel, are the prelude to the more extensive Gardens des Tuileries.
This Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was commissioned by Napoleon in 1807-1809 as the main door to his imperial residence: Chateau de Tuileries.

Oltrepassandola alla vostra sinistra sarà possibile iniziare a individuare la Tour Eiffel che vi osserva da lontano, mentre alla vostra destra la maison de qualite "Paul" . La nostra golosità ebbe il sopravvento e due tartine ai mirtilli. Buonissime!

Passing it, on your left you can begin to identify the Tour Eiffel, which is watching you from far away, while at your right the maison de qualité "Paul".

Our greed took over and two bluberry tarts were inevitable. Great!

Continuando troverete un po' ovunque delle statue, fra le quali alcune molto maleducate...

e altre perseguitate da un molesto ed egocentrico disturbatore!

Mentre qui si rasentava semplicemente la grevità! :D

Place de la Concorde 

La piazza, prima di stabilizzarsi con il suo obelisco al centro, fu testimone di cortei, raggruppamento di folle in tempo rivoluzionario. Per questo verrà nominata "Piazza della Rivoluzione" e la statua del Re, dopo essere distrutta sarà rimpiazzata con una Statua della Libertà in cartone e stucco. Anch'essa verrà sostituita dalla ghigliottina, che poi cambierà posto ma che tornerà a Place de la Concorde per l'esecuzione di Maximilien de Robespierre.

Infine nel 1831 il Viceré d'Egitto offre i due obelischi dell'ingresso del palazzo di Ramses III, dando fine alla burrascosa storia di ornamenti della piazza. Tutt'ora a troneggiare è l'obelisco che, con tutte le vicissitudini storicamente importanti avvenute in quella piazza, è del tutto fuori luogo.

The square, before settling with his obelisk in the center, was a witness of marches, grouping of crowds in revolutionary time. For this it was named "Revolution Square" and the statue of the King, after being destroyed will be replaced with a Statue of Liberty in cardboard and plaster. It too will be replaced by the guillotine, which then will change location, but it will return to the Place de la Concorde for the execution of Maximilien de Robespierre.

Finally in 1831, the Viceroy of Egypt offers the two obelisks of the entrance of the palace of Ramses III, giving an end to the stormy history of the ornaments of the square.

Even today it is there but, in my opinion, with all the important and historical vicissitudes occurred in that square, the obelisk is entirely misplaced.

Sempre alla vostra sinistra scorgerete la Tour Eiffel, la quale quel giorno scompariva mostruosamente sotto la nebbia.

Always on your left you will see the Tour Eiffel, which that day monstrously disappeared beneath the fog.

Along the Champs Elysees

Ora non vorrei smontare il pregiudizio che potete avere su di me in quanto ragazza, ma io NON amo lo shopping sfrenato! 

Quindi per me gli Champs Elysées non erano una gran meta se non per il fatto che mi avrebbero portato all'Arc de Triomphe. 

Oltretutto per poterli fotografare decentemente avrei rischiato la morte sotto qualche macchina e poi sono rinomati per essere un favoloso viale alberato di 1.910 m ...peccato che a Febbraio gli alberi non siano esattamente in fiore!

ERGO ho cercato di cogliere le cose più "stravaganti" , fra cui...

Now I wouldn't destroy the prejudice that you may have about me as a girl, but I DON'T love the endless shopping!

So, for me, the Champs Elysées weren't a great goal if not for the fact that it would bring me to the Arc de Triomphe.

Moreover to take a decent photo of them I would have gone to death under the cars...and then they are renowned for being a fabulous tree lined avenue of 1.910 m.

Shame that in February the trees aren't exactly in bloom!

Un fantastico bagno pubblico! 

Paradossalmente (non avendo neanche il bidet.) i francesi hanno la cultura e, oserei dire, quasi l'ossessione delle toilettes. 

Le trovi ovunque ed anche a prezzi poco considerevoli, come vedrete fra qualche foto!

A great public bath!

Paradoxically ( not having even bidet) the French have the culture and, I dare say, almost an obsession with the toilets.

You will find them anywhere, also at not considerable prices, as you will soon see!

Un piccolo centro commerciale ornato da strane statue dal significato astruso...

...e da bagni pubblici tanto attrezzati quanto esosi!

and public toilets...so equipped as greedy!

 Infine, dopo una intera giornata a camminare, noleggiammo due velo, arrivando velocemente all'Arc de Triomphe e la sera alla Tour Eiffel!...
